About this blog

The goal of this site is simply to try and reverse engineer the price of things. Since I’m an outsider looking in with limited information, I make no guarantees as to the accuracy of my estimates.

Most posts will seek to answer the following questions:

  1. How much does it cost to make this product?
  2. How much does each component of the product contribute to the total cost?
  3. How much profit is this company making off of the product?
  4. How many products do they have to sell to make their money back?

In the process of roughly (and I do mean roughly) attempting to answer these questions, I hope that you and myself will gain some (possibly inaccurate) knowledge about industries that we formerly had no clue about.

What this blog will not seek to answer is if the product is worth its price tag, and instead will leave that up to the reader to determine for themselves.

When I think it’s interesting, I’ll write about my own personal finances as well. Hope you enjoy reading!
